"Tae Rama 7," Tae Mongkolkitti, came up with the idea of buying a top Premier League team if he becomes prime minister.
On 27 Jan 2026 GMT+7, Mr. Mongkolkitti Suksintharanon, also known as "Tae Rama 7," did a live stream answering viewers' questions during his travel. One question was, "If you become prime minister, will you buy Manchester United?" Tae Mongkolkitti responded,
"Of course, we have to buy it and bring it to the Thai people, but we must share ownership with private investors as well. If it's a worthwhile investment, the government will buy it outright."
Previously, Tae Mongkolkitti called Red Devils fans "The Kop," causing a stir among football fans. He also proposed hosting a "space football" tournament inviting eight nations with space forces, and pledged to support Thai football to reach the World Cup by injecting 2 billion baht annually.
The current estimated value of the Red Devils is 724 million euros, or about 26,720,668,000 baht (according to Transfermarkt). The current shareholders are the Glazer family and Sir Jim Ratcliffe, owner of INEOS.
