Tae Mongkolkitti Chooses After News of Buying Manchester United and Liverpool

Mr. Mongkolkitti Suksintharanon, also known as “Tae Rama 7,” has made a decision following reports about buying the football clubs Manchester United and Liverpool.

On 29 Jan 2026 GMT+7, Mr. Mongkolkitti Suksintharanon, secretary-general of the New Alternative Party, announced via Facebook that he would buy the “Reds” Liverpool if given the chance to become Prime Minister.

Previously, Mongkolkitti livestreamed that he would buy Manchester United to bring it to the Thai people, but the investment would be shared with private partners. If it proved worthwhile, the government would buy it outright.

Most recently, Mongkolkitti added, “I have decided to expand from negotiating to buy only Manchester United. Now, I will negotiate to buy Liverpool to bring it to the Thai people and help the Thai national team win the 2030 FIFA World Cup.”

The current estimated value of Liverpool is $5.4 billion (approximately £4 billion), according to the latest Forbes ranking. The current shareholders are the Fenway Sports Group (FSG).

Meanwhile, Manchester United’s current valuation is €724 million, or about 26.72 billion baht (according to Transfermarkt). The current shareholders are the Glazer family and Sir Jim Ratcliffe, owner of INEOS.

Tae Mongkolkitti previously referred to Manchester United fans as “The Kop,” creating a buzz among football fans. He also has a policy to host a “space football” tournament inviting eight nations with space forces to compete, and to support Thai football reaching the World Cup by investing 2 billion baht annually.
