Arne Slot, Liverpool's manager, spoke openly after leading the team to a victory over Newcastle United in the latest Premier League match.
Arne Slot, manager of the "Reds" Liverpool, praised the team's two forwards, Hugo Ekitike and Florian Wirtz, for their excellent performances in the match where the home side at Anfield defeated Newcastle United, known as the "Magpies," 4-1 in the English Premier League last night.
In that match, Ekitike scored two goals, while Wirtz contributed one goal and one assist. The other goal came from Ibrahima Konaté during stoppage time, helping Liverpool climb to fifth place in the Premier League standings.
Slot said, "I can say with confidence that the fans love him (Ekitike), but fans usually love players who score a lot of goals anyway."
"What I like about Ekitike and Wirtz is their focus on both scoring goals and providing assists. Football should be like this because it makes the game more enjoyable to watch, especially when they score goals. Their work ethic has improved significantly."
"The result is that we can control the game more, and consequently, they are in better positions."
"Ekitike has scored many goals since the start of the season, and Wirtz has been heavily involved in creating chances for teammates. Unfortunately, many times the ball hasn't gone in. It's not always easy for them to play together every three days."
"It takes time for them to perform at their best at a high intensity every three days. They are getting closer and closer, and it's no surprise that their numbers are increasing."
