The "Reds" Liverpool have reportedly reached an agreement to sign a new player, with a transfer fee exceeding 2 billion baht.
Fabrizio Romano, the renowned Italian journalist, confirmed that Premier League giants Liverpool have finalized a deal to bring promising French defender Jérémy Chacquet from Rennes to Anfield.
Romano confirmed the deal with his signature phrase 'Here We Go!' The transfer fee is as high as 60 million euros (approximately 2.244 billion baht) plus an additional 10 million euros (around 374 million baht) in add-ons, and the player has completed personal terms with Liverpool.
The 20-year-old Chacquet will officially join Liverpool after this season, as Rennes still intends to use him for the remainder of the campaign to boost their chances of qualifying for European competitions next season. Chacquet has been a key player for Rennes, starting 18 matches in France’s Ligue 1.
Chacquet is recognized as one of the best young defenders in the world and attracted interest from several top clubs, including Chelsea, but ultimately Liverpool secured the signing.
