Pep Guardiola, manager of the "Sky Blues" Manchester City, said he was extremely happy after his team beat Newcastle United 3-1 at the Etihad Stadium in the second leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final. With a 5-1 aggregate win, Man City advanced to the final. He also praised their final opponent, Arsenal, calling them the best club in the world right now.
Pep said, "I am very happy. In the past 10 years, we have reached the Carabao Cup final five times. So this is very good—fantastic, truly fantastic."
"This is great for many of us, including myself. I am very pleased to be back, and for many players who have never been in a Carabao Cup final or any club final before."
"It is a great experience to face the best team in Europe or the world right now, for many reasons, including their style of play and their record."
"It will be a great experience for us. Hopefully, by March we will have everyone fit and ready, and we can play a good game against them."
"To reach the final, you need consistency over two games, 180 minutes, and we did very well. Overall, scoring 5-1 on aggregate is excellent."
For the Carabao Cup final, Manchester City will face Arsenal on 22 March at Wembley Stadium in England.
