In the match, Manchester United scored through Embolo in the first half and Bruno Fernandes in the second, while Tottenham were reduced to 10 men from the 29th minute after Cristian Romero was sent off following a foul on Casemiro.
The first goal came in the 38th minute from a cleverly designed set piece. Bruno Fernandes delivered a low ball into the penalty area for Koby Meno to deftly redirect, setting up Embolo, who was unmarked near the penalty spot and struck a precise left-footed shot into the corner.
After the game, Embolo spoke to MUTV about the goal moment:
"It was a set play we've practiced before, but I have to admit our training was never very successful. I kept shooting over the fence, but today it mattered most. We're very happy with this goal because it wasn't an easy shot."
