No Escape! Tottenham Hotspur Sack Thomas Frank After Poor Form, Sitting 16th in Premier League

Tottenham Hotspur announced the dismissal of Thomas Frank as head coach after he led the team to only 2 wins in 17 Premier League matches, leaving them 16th in the table.

On 11 Feb 2026 GMT+7, Tottenham Hotspur, a prominent Premier League club, officially decided to sack Thomas Frank as head coach following a prolonged period of poor domestic results.

The 52-year-old coach was dismissed after just 8 months in charge, having failed to win any domestic games in 8 consecutive matches. Spurs won only 2 of their last 17 Premier League games, dropping to 16th place, just 5 points above the relegation zone.

Frank’s final game was a 1-2 home defeat to Newcastle United on Tuesday night, amid a tense atmosphere with home fans chanting “You’re getting sacked in the morning” once again, as they had done during a loss to West Ham in January.

Fan dissatisfaction grew due to dropped points against relegation-threatened Burnley and a recent defeat to Manchester United, widely seen as the last straw that forced the board to make a decisive move.

Previously, Frank had been given a chance to recover after leading the team to wins over Borussia Dortmund and Eintracht Frankfurt in the UEFA Champions League, offering some hope, but league form continued to decline.

Thomas Frank took over from Ange Postecoglou last summer on a three-year contract after a successful seven seasons with Brentford. However, he is leaving Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with the team eliminated from all domestic cup competitions and dangerously close to the relegation zone.

Home form was particularly poor, with Spurs managing only two home wins all Premier League season. The recent loss to the “Magpies” marked their seventh home defeat this campaign.

Reports indicate the Spurs board is considering several emergency options to appoint a new head coach as soon as possible amid concerns the team may become fully embroiled in a relegation battle in the season’s final stretch.
