Alexis Mac Allister has made his decision following reports of interest from Manchester United.
On 18 Feb 2026 GMT+7, Alexis Mac Allister, Argentine midfielder for Liverpool, will not transfer to Manchester United this summer, confirmed by his father Carlos Mac Allister.
It is understood that Manchester United is looking for quality midfielders to strengthen their squad, leading to links with several players including Carlos Baleba of Brighton, Elliott Anderson of Nottingham Forest, Adam Worthington of Crystal Palace, and Sandro Tonali of Newcastle.
Most recently, Alexis Mac Allister of Liverpool has been linked, which is surprising since the last direct transfer between these two clubs dates back to 1964 when Phil Chisnall moved from Manchester United to Liverpool.
Recently, Carlos Mac Allister, both father and agent of the player, spoke about the situation.
"Right now, Alexis is only focused on Liverpool. We are waiting for a new contract offer. We will see what plans the club has."
When asked if his son might consider moving if Liverpool does not offer a new contract, he replied, "We will wait to see what happens with the contract extension. That's all."
The 27-year-old Mac Allister has a contract with Liverpool until the end of June 2028.
