Startling Analysis! Abhisit Predicts Arsenals Championship Chances, Teases Man United Fans Wanting Tonali (Video)

Startling analysis! Abhisit Vejjajiva, leader of the Democrat Party, confidently predicts Arsenal's championship chances and teases Manchester United fans wanting Tonali to join.

On 20 Feb 2026 GMT+7, former Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva joined Aof Chainon on THE STANDARD NOW program on THE STANDARD's YouTube channel, both sharing their passion as "Newcastle fans." The atmosphere was lively, especially during the football analysis segment where they exchanged views enthusiastically on Arsenal's title chances, the transfers of Anthony Gordon and Sandro Tonali, and Manchester City's choices between chasing Arsenal in points or advancing in the FA Cup.

Abhisit spoke about his beloved team's performance, noting he smiled throughout the show because Newcastle had just beaten Qarabag 6-1 in the Champions League. Although league form was lacking, the team remained in contention for both the FA Cup and Champions League trophies.

Regarding calls to sack manager Eddie Howe, Abhisit said nothing serious was happening, citing the team's many injured players and the fact that this season involves Newcastle playing the most matches in the club's history.

As for the trophy they most hope to win, Abhisit admitted he wants the FA Cup to build on recent success before setting sights on the UEFA Champions League or Premier League title next season.

At one point, Aof asked on behalf of viewers if Arsenal would be champions given their lead but recent league hiccups. Abhisit playfully replied, "If the season ended in February, Arsenal would probably be champions."

He further explained, "I'm not saying that if it ends in May they won’t be; I’m saying that if it ended in February, they definitely would be."

When asked whether Manchester United could sign Tonali, Abhisit teased back, saying Manchester United has plenty of rest time and should focus on developing their own players.

Regarding Anthony Gordon, who recently scored four goals in a single game amid transfer rumors, Abhisit cautioned, "Be careful—players who score a lot before transferring sometimes don’t score after moving. I’ve said this before."

He also discussed facing Manchester City in both the Premier League and FA Cup fifth round, saying that with City, they might lose one match and win another, leaving the choice between chasing Arsenal or advancing in the FA Cup.
