Relieved: Arne Slot Shares What Eased His Worries Before Liverpool’s Premier League Visit to Wolverhampton

Relieved a bit, Arne Slot revealed what eased his worries before Liverpool’s away match against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the 2025-26 English Premier League.

On 3 March 2026, Arne Slot, the Dutch coach, expressed some relief ahead of Liverpool’s Premier League round 29 away game tonight against the Wolves, Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Slot had been concerned because Cody Gakpo, a fellow Dutch attacker, had been struggling with form, especially recently with finishing issues. However, the former PSV Eindhoven player ended his dry spell by scoring in the latest 5-2 thrashing of West Ham United. This was Gakpo’s first league goal since scoring against Fulham in January.

Recently, Arne Slot said, “I am happy that he (Cody Gakpo) scored. He’s regained confidence, and I think this goal was exactly what he needed. Honestly, I never thought his confidence disappeared; it was just that some decisions and plays didn’t go as he wanted. When a player goes a long time without scoring, it’s normal to overthink. I’m glad for him to have scored again.”
