Liverpool Cheers as Klopp Reveals Latest Good News Ahead of FA Cup Fifth Round Rematch with Wolverhampton

Liverpool celebrates as Klopp reveals the latest good news ahead of the FA Cup fifth round rematch with Wolverhampton.

On 6 March 2026, Jürgen Klopp, Liverpool's manager, revealed the latest team updates ahead of the FA Cup fifth round away match against Premier League rivals Wolverhampton, scheduled for tonight at 03:00 GMT+7.

Liverpool recently suffered a 1-2 defeat to bottom-placed Wolverhampton in the Premier League on Tuesday, 3 March, causing the Reds to drop to 6th place behind Manchester United, Aston Villa, and Chelsea, impacting their hopes for a UEFA Champions League qualification spot.

In this game, Liverpool has the chance to avenge the loss to Wolverhampton and keep alive their ambitions for two remaining trophies this season. In the UEFA Champions League, the Reds will visit Galatasaray for the first leg of the round of 16 on Tuesday, 10 March.

Klopp shared good news that Florian Wirtz, the German attacking midfielder sidelined with a back injury and missing the last three matches, is likely to recover in time to play briefly in the FA Cup rematch against Wolverhampton.

The Liverpool coach said, "He trained for half a day with half the team yesterday. What I mean is, he’s like a 'joker' as you say here. I think he is improving in his recovery."

"So let's see how he is today, and if possible, he will be ready to play a few minutes in this match, in the best case. As for the others who played on Tuesday, I think they have no issues so far."

Liverpool's latest injury list includes six players:

Florian Wirtz (back)

Alexander Isak (leg)

Conor Bradley (knee)

Wataru Endo (foot)

Giovanni Leonì (anterior cruciate ligament tear)

Stefan Bajcetic (hamstring)
