After a stubborn run, Klopp has made his decision ahead of Liverpool’s FA Cup fifth round rematch against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
On 6 Mar 2026 GMT+7, Arne Klopp, Liverpool’s manager, gave his latest interview before the key FA Cup fifth round game away at Wolverhampton Wanderers, the Premier League’s bottom team, scheduled for tonight at 03:00 GMT+7.
Liverpool’s situation this season differs from last, when they contended for all four trophies before winning the Premier League in Klopp’s first year succeeding Jürgen Klopp.
But now, the Reds have lost the chance to defend their Premier League title and were knocked out in the Carabao Cup fourth round, leaving only two trophies to fight for: the UEFA Champions League round of 16 against Galatasaray, and the FA Cup fifth round rematch against Wolves, after a shocking last-minute loss in the Premier League.
This defeat dropped the Reds to sixth place in the Premier League standings, behind Manchester United, Aston Villa, and Chelsea, jeopardizing their hopes of qualifying for the UEFA Champions League.
Klopp spoke about the importance of this match and Liverpool’s current situation, including the Champions League round of 16 first leg on Tuesday, 10 Mar 2026: “We always consider every game we play to be very important, and every trophy we have a chance to win is significant.”
“Last season, we tried to win all four trophies, and this season we have the same goal. But two trophies are no longer possible—the Premier League and the League Cup. So for the remaining two trophies, we will do our best to win them, as we always have at this club.”
“And of course, playing in the Champions League is very important, as we all know. But tomorrow’s game is not about that. This is an FA Cup match, which is also very important for us.”
