Wolves Coach Straightforward After FA Cup Exit Following Liverpool Defeat

Rob Edwards, Wolverhampton's head coach, spoke candidly after leading his team to a 1-3 home defeat against Liverpool, resulting in elimination from the FA Cup Round of 16.

Rob Edwards, manager of the Wolves, openly admitted that his team deserved to lose 1-3 at home to Liverpool in the FA Cup Round of 16 last night. He said the focus now shifts fully to fighting relegation in the Premier League.

"I think today they (Liverpool) played very well. They are champions. Sometimes you have to accept that and give them credit because today they were better than us."

"The main point I just told the players was about the second goal we conceded just 30 seconds after the first. When the score was still 1-0, we were still in the game and anything could have happened."

"But conceding that goal was very disappointing and immediately made things difficult for us. I think today they performed outstandingly and were truly superior to us."

When asked if the team still believed they could avoid relegation, Edwards said, "We will focus mainly on Brentford. If we get a good result there, we want to go as far as we can. Whatever happens, we will fight until the end of this season."

Currently, Wolverhampton sits at the bottom, 20th place in the Premier League standings, with 16 points from 30 games—12 points behind the safety zone and only 8 games remaining.
