Arteta Makes One Request After Arsenal Narrowly Defeat Mansfield to Advance in FA Cup

Mikel Arteta, Arsenal's manager, opened up after leading the team to an away win over Mansfield Town, securing a spot in the FA Cup quarterfinals.

Mikel Arteta, manager of the "Gunners" Arsenal, criticized his players for lacking clinical finishing after missing several golden opportunities in the FA Cup Round of 16 match. Arsenal won 2-1 away against Mansfield Town, a League One side, to advance to the quarterfinals. He also credited their opponents for making the match a true FA Cup contest.

In the match, Arsenal brought on Eberechi Eze as a substitute, who scored the winning goal with a beautiful right-foot strike from outside the penalty area that hit the top corner. However, Arteta felt his team needed to be more clinical, as they wasted several chances by carelessly throwing them away.

Arteta said, “It was a true FA Cup game. Credit must go to Mansfield and the atmosphere created by their fans. They made it very difficult for us.”

“You have to be much more clinical because we had four or five golden chances that we failed to convert.”

“Of course, conceding a goal was a setback that cost us momentum and confidence. But overall, I am satisfied with the performance. We had two 16-year-old players in the starting lineup, and I am very proud of them.”
