Liam Rosnier Expresses Frustration After Chelseas Late Collapse Against PSG in UCL Round of 16

Liam Rosnier, Chelsea's manager, spoke out after his team suffered an away defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League Round of 16.

Liam Rosnier, manager of the "Blues" Chelsea, admitted he was deeply pained after seeing his team lose 2-5 to Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 last night, especially after conceding 3 goals late in the second half.

In that match, Chelsea fought well, holding a 2-2 draw through 75 minutes, but then the players suddenly lost form, allowing PSG to score 3 more goals and win decisively 2-5, a result the manager found hard to believe.

"The result was very disappointing on a night when I was very happy for most of the game. The last 15-20 minutes were absolutely crazy. We needed to handle being behind better and stay calmer, but we failed to do so."

"It was a painful scoreline because for the first 75 minutes we were in control and managing the game. Players can make mistakes—Philip Jørgensen wasn’t the first to err. That’s part of football. At 2-2, we had the advantage and nearly took the lead 3-2. But at the highest level, the Champions League, small differences make all the difference."

"The fifth goal was the most painful after all the tense moments earlier."

Additionally, Rosnier addressed the incident where Pedro Neto pushed a ball boy near the end, saying, "I haven’t watched the clip yet. I saw there was an argument with the ball boy. If anything was wrong on our side, I apologize on behalf of the club. I believe Pedro has already apologized in an interview. We have talked extensively about discipline and keeping calm, and it is my responsibility to find the answers."
