Manchester United Faces Headache as Barcelona Decides Marcus Rashfords Future

Manchester United is certainly troubled after news emerged that Barcelona has decided on the future of Marcus Rashford.

Spanish media outlet Mundo Deportivo reported that "the Blaugrana" Barcelona, a giant club in La Liga, may send English forward Marcus Rashford back to "the Red Devils" Manchester United after his loan contract ends this summer, while turning their attention to signing Chelsea's Pedro Neto instead.

Although 28-year-old Rashford has clearly expressed his desire to stay with Barcelona beyond this season, his wish may not come true, as the latest reports indicate Barcelona is closely monitoring Chelsea winger Pedro Neto.

The Portuguese international moved from Wolverhampton to Chelsea for £54 million in August 2024. He can play on both wings, though mostly as a right winger during his time at Stamford Bridge.

The 26-year-old has already scored 10 goals and provided 6 assists this season, which seems to have attracted Barcelona's interest in his potential.

If Barcelona formally pursues a transfer, the move could be easier because Neto's agent, Jorge Mendes, has a good relationship with Barcelona. Neto currently has a contract with Chelsea until 2031.

If Barcelona ultimately chooses Neto, Rashford's future will be immediately uncertain, as Manchester United no longer wants to keep him due to his high wages.
