Enzo Fernandez May Leave Chelsea! Criticizes Rosniers Tactics for PSG Loss, Exiting UCL

Enzo Fernandez may be leaving Chelsea! He blasted Rosnier's tactics that caused defeat to Paris Saint-Germain, leading to their exit from the UEFA Champions League.

On 18 Mar 2026 GMT+7, Enzo Fernandez did not rule out moving away from Chelsea after this season and pointed out that Paris Saint-Germain had tactical superiority after a 0-3 away loss. Chelsea lost 2-8 on aggregate, suffering a heavy defeat to exit the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 in a dismal fashion.

In the match, Liam Rosnier had a terrible start when Kvicha Kvaratskhelia scored for PSG as early as the 6th minute, followed by Bradley Barcola adding a second goal in the 14th minute, effectively sealing the game early on. Senei Mayulu then scored late in the second half to complete a 3-0 victory for Luis Enrique's team.

Chelsea are officially out of the UEFA Champions League but still have the FA Cup quarterfinal match against Port Vale on 4 April, and currently stand 6th in the Premier League with eight matches remaining.

Meanwhile, Fernandez, who is contracted with Chelsea until 2031, sparked uncertainty about his own future following the loss to PSG. When asked if he would remain at Chelsea next season, he told ESPN Argentina, “I don’t know. I don’t know.”

“We still have eight games left, including the FA Cup and the World Cup. Then we’ll see what happens,” he added.

Regarding the 0-3 defeat in the second leg against PSG, Fernandez felt that Rosnier’s tactics were not sufficient to beat the European champions. “I think we lost control of the game from the first match,” he said.

“In the last 15 minutes, they scored three goals. Being three goals behind is a huge deficit in modern football.”

“We made mistakes and had to pay the price. Football is all about details, and in the end PSG took advantage.”

“After that, it became a tough task. Especially with them scoring within the first 5 minutes, everything got even harder. That’s how football is.”

“Congratulations to PSG. They were much better than us, and I think they beat us tactically.”
