Galatasaray, the Turkish league giant, confirmed that Victor Osimhen, the Nigerian national team striker and one of their key players, suffered a broken right arm during their 0-4 away defeat to "The Reds" Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 second leg, resulting in their exit with a 1-4 aggregate score.
Osimhen, 27, who has scored 19 goals in 29 appearances across all competitions this season, started the match but was injured and had to be substituted after the first half.
Recently, Galatasaray issued a statement saying, “Victor Osimhen was diagnosed with a broken right arm from the incident in last night’s game. The medical team is assessing whether surgery is necessary. The final decision regarding surgery will be made in the coming days.”
In addition to Osimhen, midfielder Noah Lang also suffered a deep tear injury to his right thumb in the same match, further complicating the challenges for the strong Turkish club as they pursue their remaining season objectives: defending the Süper Lig title and chasing the Turkish Cup championship.
