Carrick said, "It's disappointing. We created enough chances and had enough opportunities in the game. There was a key chance to go 2-0 up, but we only got one penalty. The referee didn’t give us the second penalty. It was almost the same situation as the first penalty we were awarded. So the referee definitely made a mistake at that moment. It was a crucial time, and I don't understand why they gave the first penalty but not the second. I really don’t get it. It’s crazy."
When asked if Harry Maguire’s red card was too harsh, Carrick replied, "Maybe. It was very chaotic at that moment. But if we had been awarded two penalties, this kind of thing wouldn’t have happened."
Regarding coping with playing against the opposition with 10 men, he said, "I’m satisfied that when we were down to 10 players, we managed to hold the score until the end and earned a point. That’s very good. Credit also goes to Bournemouth for playing well, showing energy and a positive attitude throughout, constantly testing us. Although we were a man down for a long time, the players who came on late in the game performed very well."
