Alan Shearer, the football expert, has predicted the outcome of the Carabao Cup final between Arsenal and Manchester City.
In the lead-up to the 2025-26 Carabao Cup final, "The Gunners" Arsenal are set to face off fiercely against "The Sky Blues" Manchester City tonight (Sunday, 22 March 2026) at 23:30 GMT+7.
Recently, Alan Shearer, former England national team striker, analyzed the game, believing Arsenal will narrowly defeat Manchester City and claim the championship. He said it wouldn’t be surprising if the match is decided by a penalty shootout, but in the end, Arsenal will be champions.
Shearer said, “I think it will be a fantastic game. I expect there will be plenty to talk about.”
“I wouldn’t be surprised if it goes to penalties, but I think Arsenal might edge it. I believe it will be a very close game, but I’m picking Arsenal to win.”
“Both clubs are under pressure, but for different reasons. There’s talk this might be Pep’s final season with Manchester City.”
“Manchester City haven’t been playing as well defensively as before. They’ve given opponents many chances, as was clear in the game against Real Madrid.”
“It’s going to be a fierce match with plenty of excitement. I’m really looking forward to this game.”
“If Arsenal win the Carabao Cup, their chances of winning four trophies will definitely increase. But it will be very difficult because this is a crucial match for both clubs. If Arsenal win, talk of a quadruple will become much more serious, and certainly no one has done that before.”
