Its Clear Now: Klopp Has Decided on His Coaching Future Amid Rumors Linking Him to Two Major Teams

It's now clear that Jürgen Klopp has made his decision regarding a return to coaching after rumors linked him to two major teams.

On 24 Mar 2026 GMT+7, Jürgen Klopp, former Liverpool manager, gave his latest interview about the chance of returning to coaching at the launch event as a World Cup 2026 analyst for Germany's Magenta TV, alongside former Bayern Munich striker Thomas Müller and former Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels.

Currently, Jürgen Klopp serves as the global head of football for Red Bull, setting the direction for their football clubs worldwide. However, rumors have persisted linking him to a return as a coach, especially with Real Madrid and the German national team.

Most recently, Jürgen Klopp personally addressed the rumors involving every team, starting with the German national team, where reports claimed he would succeed Julian Nagelsmann after the 2026 World Cup. "To be clear, I am not thinking about that at all right now," he said.

"Who knows what will happen in the next few years, but there are absolutely no plans for that. It's good we can talk about these things. What counts as the truth? When someone writes it down on paper? Or when there is something truly credible?"

Regarding the rumors about Real Madrid, Klopp responded, "What would the situation look like? Real Madrid would have to call me and say, ‘Florentino Pérez called me! How’s Jürgen?’ Or is it just OE24 (an Austrian media outlet) — I don’t know if it’s AI or whoever wrote this nonsense? It really annoys me."

"(A call from Real Madrid) is complete nonsense. I might as well manage Atlético Madrid. If possible, I’d manage both teams at once. Sorry, Madrid, you have to call me first."

Regarding resigning from Red Bull to return to coaching, the former Liverpool manager fired back, "The same fools wrote that — Salzburger Nachrichten (an Austrian news agency). Their journalists don’t know anything, and everyone just follows the trend."
