Liverpool should be cautious as PSG reveals a special plan to secure victory ahead of their UEFA Champions League quarterfinal match.
On 24 March 2026, the latest updates about Paris Saint-Germain, leaders of France’s Ligue 1 and Liverpool’s opponent in the 2025-26 UEFA Champions League quarterfinals, scheduled for next month.
In the first leg, PSG will host Liverpool on 8 April before visiting Anfield for the second leg on 14 April. The Parisian club is seeking to negotiate postponing their Ligue 1 away match against Lens, the league’s second-placed team, originally set for 11 April.
PSG wants their squad to be at full strength before facing Liverpool in the Champions League. However, Lens has officially rejected the postponement request, leaving the final decision to the French Professional Football League (LFP), expected on 26 March.
Lens refuses to delay the match as it directly impacts the 2025-26 Ligue 1 title race. PSG leads the table with 60 points from 26 matches, while Lens is second, just one point behind but having played one more game.
Reports say PSG proposed moving the game to May, but Lens opposed this due to concerns about a two-week break followed by three matches in one week.
Previously, PSG postponed a Ligue 1 match against Nantes to allow more rest before visiting Chelsea in the UCL round of 16 second leg, which they won 3-0, advancing 8-2 on aggregate to face Liverpool.
