Griezmann Unveils New Team, Aims to Lead Atletico Madrid to Two Final Titles

Antoine Griezmann, the French striker, has signed a pre-contract with a new team and aims to lead Atletico Madrid to win two final championships.

On 24 Mar 2026 GMT+7, Orlando City of the U.S. Major League Soccer announced the pre-signing of French national team forward Antoine Griezmann from "Los Rojiblancos" Atletico Madrid. The player will officially join after this season, signing a two-year contract with an option to extend for an additional year until the 2028/29 season.

Meanwhile, Griezmann posted a farewell to Atletico Madrid, saying, “It’s not easy to express my feelings because this club is my home and you are my family. It has been an incredible journey filled with memorable matches, goals, happiness, and a passion that only we know as Atletico Madrid fans.”

“But now, let's put the future aside because I’m not leaving yet. I still have several months in this shirt, months to dedicate my life both on and off the pitch to lifting the Copa del Rey trophy and dreaming of going as far as possible in the Champions League.”

“We still have many opportunities to be happy. I want every remaining minute here to prove the meaning of this club’s crest. The best is yet to come. We will achieve it together as we always have.”

“My present remains red-and-white until the last breath of the 2026 season, and my heart will be that way forever.”

Griezmann transferred from Real Sociedad to Atletico Madrid in July 2014. Since then, he has become the club’s all-time top scorer with 211 goals, surpassing Luis Aragonés’ previous record of 173 goals.

Additionally, he has made 488 appearances in the red-and-white jersey over ten seasons, making him the fourth most-capped player in Atletico Madrid’s history.
