Man Utd is accelerating efforts to outpace rivals in signing this well-known Premier League star to their team.
Teamtalk, a prominent football media outlet, reported that Manchester United, the Premier League giant, has fully resumed efforts to sign Elliot Anderson, the talented midfielder of Nottingham Forest, this summer to bring him to Old Trafford.
Anderson is targeted by both Manchester United and Manchester City, with earlier reports suggesting City was the front-runner to sign him.
However, recent reports indicate that Manchester United, seeking a replacement for Casemiro, has reduced interest in Sandro Tonali of Newcastle and is now fully pursuing Anderson.
The 23-year-old Anderson has yet to decide on his next club. Forest values him at around £80 million. Anderson posted an Instagram story showing himself standing next to Donny van de Beek, Manchester United's midfielder, while on international duty, sparking hope among United fans.
If Anderson joins Manchester United, he would play alongside van de Beek and Bruno Fernandes in midfield, significantly strengthening the Red Devils' central lineup.
Nevertheless, Manchester United will need to work hard to prevent Anderson from joining Manchester City.
If Nottingham Forest is relegated, it could simplify negotiations for both Manchester United and Manchester City regarding this deal.
