Liverpool, known as the "Reds," is reportedly in talks to sign a renowned La Liga star this summer for £78 million.
The well-known football outlet TEAMtalk reported that Liverpool, a Premier League giant, has started negotiations to sign Arda Güler, the versatile Turkish international attacking player from Real Madrid, known as the "Los Blancos," for this summer's transfer window.
Güler's impressive performances in Turkey with Fenerbahçe made him a target for several top European clubs before Real Madrid secured his transfer in 2023.
He excelled in his first season by contributing to eight goals and became a regular starter in subsequent seasons under managers Carlo Ancelotti, Xabi Alonso, and Álvaro Arbeloa, scoring five goals and providing 13 assists across all competitions—the highest assist tally alongside Vinícius Júnior, who also had 13 assists.
Recent reports indicate Liverpool is highly interested in Güler and is actively competing to sign him. The club has maintained regular contact with Güler's team and is simultaneously negotiating with Real Madrid to position itself favorably for a potential transfer.
Liverpool views the 21-year-old as a "talent of the era" capable of playing multiple attacking roles. However, competition for this quality player is expected to intensify through the summer.
Liverpool's Premier League rivals Chelsea and Arsenal are also determined to sign Güler if Real Madrid decides to sell him during the summer transfer window.
Last summer, Liverpool broke the British transfer record by signing Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen, and now the next potential deal could be Güler, whom Real Madrid values at £78 million.
