Liverpool Accepts Season End for Hardworking Player

Liverpool, known as the "Reds," must come to terms as a key player has ended his season prematurely due to injury.

Wataru Endo, the Japanese midfielder for Liverpool, expressed deep appreciation for the club's fans who have continuously shown concern and support following his serious injury. He is expected to miss the remainder of the season after undergoing surgery and facing a three-month rehabilitation, but he remains determined to participate in the 2026 World Cup with Japan.

Endo, 33, injured his ankle during Liverpool's 1-0 victory over Sunderland in February. On that day, despite his injury, Endo tried to get up to help defend a corner kick before being carried off the field later. It appeared he was moved to tears, which he later explained was due to the heartfelt support from Liverpool fans.

Endo said, "I wasn't crying because of the pain, but because our fans were singing to cheer me on, which meant a great deal to me."

"That support eased the pain, and I felt truly grateful because I haven't played many games this season. Still, I've always tried to help the team, even if only for 5 or 10 minutes."

"After my injury, I received many messages on social media. I am very thankful; their concern has greatly encouraged me."

"It's a difficult injury to explain. The ligament was completely torn, so I ultimately had to have surgery."

"I have a goal to achieve. Playing in the World Cup is my current objective, so I am highly motivated."

"I finally started walking this week, so things are going well. I come here [Liverpool's training center] to recover, change clothes, eat breakfast, and mostly walk or exercise in the gym."

"That's about it. Honestly, I can't do much else. Walking is my current form of rehabilitation."
