Vinicius Supports Jamals Courage to Speak Out Against Religious Discrimination, Calls for Unity in Fighting for Equality

Vinicius Junior, the star forward of Real Madrid, publicly praised Spain youth international Lamine Jamal for courageously criticizing some fans who shouted anti-Muslim slogans during the friendly match against Egypt.

On 7 Apr 2026 GMT+7, the Brazilian national team striker stated that religious discrimination and prejudice remain complex issues that frequently occur in football, applauding Jamal's stance as important and potentially capable of creating social ripples.

"I'm doing well. This issue is very complex, but it happens often. I hope we can continue to fight against it. Lamine speaking out is important because it can help others," Vinicius said.

The Real Madrid player also pointed out that famous footballers play a key role in driving change due to their influence and resources, but at the same time, Black people and the economically disadvantaged worldwide still face greater hardships.

Vinicius further emphasized that racial discrimination persists in many countries globally, not limited to any single nation, and called on all parties to cooperate in the fight to create a more equal society.

"I'm not saying Spain, Germany, or Portugal are racist countries, but there are some individuals who are, just as in Brazil and many other countries. We must continue to fight together," he concluded.

The issue of racial and religious discrimination in football remains a persistent problem that requires serious cooperation from all sectors to address effectively.
