Liverpool Coach Arne Slot Speaks Out After Loss to PSG in UCL Quarterfinal

Arne Slot, Liverpool's coach, spoke candidly after leading his team to an away defeat against Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League quarterfinal first leg.

Arne Slot, manager of the "Reds" Liverpool, admitted his team was fortunate to lose only 0-2 away to Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League quarterfinal first leg but has decided to rise up and fight for qualification in the second leg at Anfield.

Goals from Desire Doué and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia gave PSG a significant advantage heading into the second leg at Anfield next Tuesday. In reality, Luis Enrique's team could have finished the game with a 5 or 6 goal lead based on their chances created, and Slot believes his team was lucky to concede only two goals.

Slot said, "Considering the overall picture of the game, I think we were lucky to lose by just 2-0."

"I think it's very positive for us that we still have a chance to advance. We can bring them to Anfield, and we know how great a stadium Anfield is for us."

"But of course, you think you could have done better. We were mostly in survival mode throughout the game, perhaps because of the point in the season we're currently facing. We were in survival mode."

"They (PSG) have speed from every position on the pitch. Wherever you look, you see incredible pace. Both Hakimi and Nuno Mendes posed significant attacking threats. They don’t just run fast; their speed is at a level beyond that, and you have to deal with it."

"We tried every tactic, but the result was the same: Paris Saint-Germain was clearly superior."

"They are the better team, but we haven't given up, which is why we still have a chance. They helped keep our hopes alive by failing to convert several golden opportunities."

"We hope to show a different game at Anfield. If you want to play aggressively, the fans can help a lot. The atmosphere will be very loud. Our fans make a difference for us."
