Stunned by Klopp's Response on His Liverpool Future After Heavy Defeats to Man City and PSG

On 10 April 2026, Jurgen Klopp, manager of Liverpool, currently 5th in the English Premier League, spoke at a press conference before the Week 32 match at home against Fulham, who stand 9th, scheduled for Saturday, 11 April.

Jurgen Klopp is under intense pressure after losing three consecutive matches: a 1-2 defeat to Brighton in the Premier League, a heavy 0-4 loss to Manchester City leading to elimination in the FA Cup quarterfinals, and a 0-2 loss to Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals, with signs that Liverpool may be out of contention for any trophies this season.

This has led to intense scrutiny over Klopp’s future at Liverpool, with speculation he might be dismissed before his contract expires at the end of the 2026-2027 season, despite having led the team to last season’s Premier League title.

However, Klopp recently spoke about his future with Liverpool in a way that surprised Reds fans worldwide: "I always talk to myself, but I feel strongly supported."

"Not just by the owners, but also by Richard Hughes and Michael Edwards. Their support is immense. And although it may sound strange, I also feel the support from the fans."

"In Paris, when the players went to warm up, and after losing 0-4 to Manchester City, the fans immediately started singing 'We love Liverpool.' I think it's fair to say we played terribly the entire 90 minutes, yet they still sang and applauded us."

"I've said many times that the club understands the period we are going through, and during this time, I feel fully supported."

The Liverpool manager also said that the recent defeat to PSG will serve as motivation during this crucial phase of the season, starting with the Premier League game at Anfield against Fulham this Saturday.

"We faced the European champions and realized we are not at the level we should be. The good thing is we have four or five days to show we can compete much better. It also tells us we need to develop and play at that level next season."

"I think if you experienced that two days ago, you want to be part of next season to show that we can do better. So, we need to perform well in the league too."
