He also criticized the referee for not awarding a penalty in the first half when Kieran Dowell was fouled by Curtis Jones.
Moyes said, "I think the players performed excellently today. They did not get the result they deserved. We deserved more. They played very well. I was disappointed with the final goal, but overall the players did excellently."
"Yes, I think we deserved a penalty. How could Kieran fall if he wasn't fouled?"
"You might say it was a slight touch, but if there was no contact, why didn't Kieran take his chance to score? He was in a position to do so."
Regarding the loss to Liverpool: "There is nothing shameful about our performance today. We played against one of the teams competing for the Champions League spots. I think we matched them well. I want this team to always compete strongly. They did not win easily."
