Supercomputer Predicts Which Teams Will Qualify for UCL Among Man United, Villa, Liverpool, and Chelsea

Supercomputer predicts which teams will qualify for the UEFA Champions League among Manchester United, Aston Villa, Liverpool, and Chelsea, with some teams facing disappointment.

On 20 April 2026 GMT+7, Opta, the football statistics expert, released its latest forecast using a supercomputer to predict which Premier League teams have the highest chances of securing a UEFA Champions League spot for the 2025-26 season after the most recent matches.

Latest Premier League standings (top 6 positions):

1. Arsenal (33 matches) 70 points

2. Manchester City (32 matches) 67 points

3. Manchester United (33 matches) 58 points

4. Aston Villa (33 matches) 58 points

5. Liverpool (33 matches) 55 points

6. Chelsea (33 matches) 48 points

Currently, league leaders Arsenal and runners-up Manchester City have both secured their spots in next season's UEFA Champions League. This leaves three remaining places available for the Champions League, as the Premier League has gained an additional spot due to UEFA coefficients ranking it among the top two European leagues.

The Opta supercomputer calculates that Aston Villa, Manchester United, and Liverpool have the highest probabilities of clinching the remaining Champions League places.

Meanwhile, Chelsea's chances are much slimmer compared to these three teams. After losing at home to Manchester United, Chelsea is now 7 points behind fifth place and level on points with Brentford and Bournemouth, while only narrowly ahead of Brighton and Everton by one point.

Chances of qualifying for the UEFA Champions League (according to Opta's supercomputer):

1. Arsenal 100%

2. Manchester City 100%

3. Aston Villa 98.67%

4. Manchester United 98.43%

5. Liverpool 88.87%

6. Chelsea 5.24%
