An Indonesian rising footballer has been removed from the national team after being seen jump-kicking an opponent.
On 21 April 2026, the incident went viral on social media when a clip showed an Indonesian player jump-kicking his rival, causing him to fall. This led to a scuffle during the Indonesian U20 football league match where Bayangkara lost 1-2 to Deva.
The player involved was Fadli Alberto Henga from Bayangkara, who is also a youth player for Indonesia's U17 national team for the 2025 World Cup. The Indonesian Football Association has since removed him from the upcoming national team training squad.
Meanwhile, Deva club has announced it will pursue legal action, stating it is gathering all video evidence and medical reports. They plan to file complaints against all involved, including players and opposing staff.
Bayangkara's team staff claimed they heard racist insults shouted from the opposing bench, saying “Berto hitam, Berto monyet” (racial slurs). This reportedly provoked the player to react angrily. Regardless of the cause, such behavior is unacceptable and cannot be tolerated.
