On 24 Apr 2026 GMT+7, Ian Wright, the former star player turned football analyst, spoke about the Gunners, Arsenal, after they were recently displaced from the top of the 2025-26 English Premier League by Manchester City, known as the Sky Blues, led by Spanish coach Pep Guardiola.
The turning point was the previous match where Arsenal lost 1-2 away to Manchester City. Guardiola’s team, initially having played one game fewer, then secured a 1-0 win over Burnley, known as The Clarets. This allowed them to overtake Arsenal at the top spot based on having scored more goals, after goal difference and points were equal.
Ian Wright recently said, "Here’s what I think: Arsenal can still win the Premier League this season. But the team needs to improve their sharpness to convert more of their scoring chances into goals. If they manage that, they have a real shot."
