Crystal Palace Coach Opens Up About Controversial Moment in Defeat to Liverpool

Oliver Glasner, the coach of Crystal Palace, opened up about a controversial moment during their recent away defeat to Liverpool in the English Premier League.

Oliver Glasner, manager of the "Eagles" Crystal Palace, stated that the referee was correct to award the goal to his team, even though Daniel Munoz's shot occurred while Liverpool goalkeeper Freddy Woodman was injured.

In that match, Liverpool hosted Crystal Palace at Anfield and won 3-1. However, controversy arose over Crystal Palace's goal, which started when Ismaila Sarr's shot was saved by Woodman, who then appeared to be injured. The ball then came to Munoz, who chipped it into the net. The referee did not stop the game and allowed the goal for Palace.

Glasner commented on the incident, saying, "It was a difficult situation because Woodman made an important save, but the ball reached Munoz. Everything happened very quickly. Woodman was able to continue playing until the end of the play, and that’s why we believe the decision was correct. I think it was okay."

"Watching on TV, it was quite tense. To be honest, Woodman saved the shot and tried to get up, then raised his arm, but Munoz was about to shoot. The game should only be stopped if Woodman was injured in the head. I think the decision was correct."

Regarding the overall team performance, he said, "I told them I think this was our best performance against Liverpool here. We played very competitively today. Playing like this will give us more confidence for the rest of the season."
