Manchester United star Marcus Rashford has made his decision following rumors of a return to the Red Devils.
On 27 Apr 2026 GMT+7, Spain's prominent outlet Mundo Deportivo reported the latest situation regarding Marcus Rashford, the English national team striker currently on loan at La Liga giant Barcelona from Premier League's Manchester United.
Last week, reports indicated that Barcelona planned to offload five players this summer transfer window, including Marcus Rashford, possibly opting not to exercise the £25 million purchase option and preparing to return him to Manchester United after his loan expires at season's end.
However, Mundo Deportivo recently stated that Marcus Rashford wants to continue at Barcelona and does not plan to play elsewhere, despite still being under contract with Manchester United—the club where he rose through the academy—until 2028.
Sources revealed that Rashford is willing to significantly reduce his wages to remain at Barcelona. Before moving to La Liga, he earned £325,000 per week at Manchester United but agreed to a pay cut upon his loan since he was not in the plans of former coach Rúben Amorim.
Previously, Barcelona seemed inclined to sign Rashford permanently, but last week they appeared to change course due to failing to agree on a price with Manchester United.
Meanwhile, Hansi Flick highly values Rashford's skills, impressed by his performance this season with 13 goals and 11 assists in all competitions for Barcelona, including earning two penalties. Rashford has been involved in a goal every 89 minutes, the highest rate among players from Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Atlético Madrid.
