Leg 1 thrilling: "Enrique" predicts how many goals PSG must score against Bayern in Leg 2 to reach the UCL final.
On 29 April 2026 GMT+7, Luis Enrique, head coach of Paris Saint-Germain, leaders of France's Ligue 1, spoke about the 2025-26 UEFA Champions League semi-final second leg after a thrilling 5-4 win over Bayern Munich, champions of the German Bundesliga.
This match has been praised by football fans worldwide as one of the greatest games in UCL history, with both teams exchanging attacking plays from start to finish, taking turns leading and trailing. Bayern took the lead 1-0, then PSG went ahead 2-1, but the "Bavarians" equalized 2-2 before the defending champions led 3-2 by halftime.
In the second half, PSG extended their lead to 5-2, but Bayern fought back to 4-5, with the game ending at that score. The one-goal difference means both teams still have strong chances to reach the final.
Luis Enrique admitted this was the best match of his coaching career and revealed how many goals PSG must score in the second leg at Bayern to guarantee a place in the UEFA Champions League final.
The PSG coach said, "The second leg will be played just like the first for sure. I asked my staff five minutes ago how many goals we need to score—at least three!"
"Bayern will be even stronger with their fans behind them, but returning there brings back good memories (we beat Inter Milan 5-0 in the 2024-25 UCL final at Allianz Arena, Bayern's home). We want to approach the match with the same mindset and do everything we can to win."
