Enrique Responds to Criticism After PSG and Bayern Score Nine Goals in UCL Clash

Luis Enrique, PSG's head coach, fired back at negative comments after PSG and Bayern scored a combined nine goals in the recent UEFA Champions League match.

Luis Enrique, coach of Paris Saint-Germain, responded to criticism claiming that in PSG's 5-4 win over Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League semifinals first leg, both teams lacked quality defensive play. He dismissed such negative comments, noting that many enjoyed the match.

"That's life. Opinions are everywhere. It's not necessary to respect every opinion. If it's a bad opinion, respect isn't required. Many people enjoy football that way. They are the majority, and I am one of them."

"But some do not like it. We have shown that most football fans enjoyed this game. Normally, I spend three hours analyzing a match, but this one took me five hours. There were incredible moments, both offensively and defensively from Bayern."

"There was not a single bad defensive play, which made the match great. It was an exciting game from both teams, especially in attack. Look at how Kane and Dembélé, the two forwards, helped defend. Both gave their all."

"It's incredible. This is a moment to congratulate both teams and enjoy the game. I think Bayern played the best—they had a more attacking mindset. They are the strongest opponent I've faced while at PSG, which is why I am very happy."

"If you ask me whether I was frustrated leading 5-2 but winning 5-4, not at all. I am glad to have beaten Bayern."

"Next week we will go to Munich to aim for victory, but if we lose or draw, it would not be unfair," Enrique said.
