The "Thunder Castle" Buriram United came away with a 3-1 away win over Johor Darul Ta'zim. The visitors' goals came from Guilherme Bissoli in the 34th minute, Goran Kausic in the 45+2nd minute, and Guilherme Bissoli again in the 90+3rd minute. The home side scored through Ake Agbetse in the 90+2nd minute, giving Buriram a solid advantage before returning home for the second leg.
Buriram United will host Johor Darul Ta'zim in the second leg of the Shopee Cup 2025-26 ASEAN club championship semi-final on Wednesday, 13 May 2026, kicking off at 19:00 Thailand time.
