Brazilian midfielder Casemiro fired back at Jamie Carragher after the latter previously criticized his performance and his period out of the starting lineup at Manchester United.
On 7 May 2026, Casemiro, the Brazilian midfielder, responded to Jamie Carragher, the Liverpool legend turned football pundit, who had earlier criticized Casemiro’s form and his time out of the starting XI at Manchester United.
Casemiro addressed Jamie Carragher’s criticism by saying, “Anyone can say anything on TV. I’m not the type to pay attention to these things (criticism). I think it’s normal. Maybe I have won more UEFA Champions League titles than his team (Liverpool), or perhaps Real Madrid has beaten his team, and he might still hold some bitterness.”
“Honestly, I respect his opinion. I don’t hold any grudge. But what matters is that he admitted he was wrong and changed his mind to praise me. That is the most important thing, because nowadays some people try to make themselves stand out on social media hoping to go viral. They act like they know everything about football. That’s why I barely have any social media apps on my phone.”
