Pong Nawat Faces Backlash from Liverpool Fans After Disrespecting Gerrard in Post

Liverpool fans turned against "Pong Nawat" after he posted a message seen as disrespectful to "Gerrard" before deleting it.

Following the "Living Legends Football Festival" event that brought five football legends to Thailand, including Steven Gerrard, Claude Makelele, Michel Salgado, Quinton Fortune, and Steve McManaman, fans had the chance to meet and play football with famous Thai actors and celebrities.

Among them, Pong Nawat had the opportunity to play football against these world-class players. After the event, he posted a photo with Steven Gerrard and other players, accompanied by the message: "What an experience! Playing football with @stevengerrard, a Liverpool legend, so professional. I wanted to whisper in his ear and ask... 'Will you slip again today?' hehe."

However, this message upset Liverpool fans in Thailand, leading him to delete the phrase "Will you slip again today? hehe" and revise the post.

The "Gerrard slip" refers to one of the most heartbreaking moments in Premier League history. On 27 April 2014, Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard slipped near the penalty box, allowing Demba Ba to steal the ball and score, giving Chelsea a 1-0 lead en route to a 2-0 victory. This caused Liverpool to narrowly miss out on the 2013-14 league title.
