Cristiano Ronaldo was extremely disappointed and walked into the dressing room without receiving the AFC Champions League 2 runner-up medal.
On 17 May 2026 GMT+7, following Al Nassr's 0-1 defeat to Gamba Osaka in the 2025/26 AFC Champions League 2 final,
the most visibly disappointed person was Cristiano Ronaldo, Al Nassr's captain and forward. He was the first to leave the field and head to the dressing room, while João Félix led the teammates to the podium to receive the runner-up medals on their behalf.
In this match, Ronaldo had multiple chances to score, but notably missed a header in the first half and late in the game hit the ball against a Gamba player’s leg, causing the shot to go off target.
Additionally, Ronaldo set a sad record since joining Al Nassr in December 2022: he has lost four finals with the club. His only final victory was in the 2023 Arab Club Champions Cup.
