Carrick Makes Decision After Leading Manchester United to 3rd Place in Premier League

Michael Carrick, interim manager of Manchester United, has reportedly made a decision after leading the team to a third-place finish in the Premier League.

Michael Carrick, interim manager of the "Red Devils," Manchester United, stated his aim to improve the team's performance further next season if given the chance to become the permanent manager. He guided the team in their final match at Old Trafford this season to a 3-2 victory over the "Forest" Nottingham Forest, securing third place in the Premier League. Now, the club's decision on his future is awaited.

Carrick said, "It’s a good day. We aimed to finish the season well. We have improved greatly both as a team and as a club. Reaching this point isn’t easy without special motivation. Ending the season like this, for many reasons, makes today a good day for us."

When asked what needs to be done for Manchester United to reach the next level,

Carrick replied, "I think there are two aspects: understanding where we want to be compared to where we were, and understanding what needs to be done to get there."

"I believe reaching this point is a great achievement. Every player deserves high praise. You just want to keep improving. The higher you go, the harder it gets. Developing the team is definitely important, which doesn’t mean the current team isn’t good—you just want to keep pushing forward."

"We have a very good group of players whom we want to develop and help improve continuously. If reinforcements are needed, then we will strengthen the squad. Some younger players will improve with another season’s experience at this club. You just need to keep moving forward. There’s no magic formula; it’s hard work, smart thinking, and having good players."

Regarding his future, amid reports that he has agreed to a two-year contract to become the permanent manager but with no official announcement yet,

"There will be clarity about the situation in the next few days. Today is about the game and getting the right result only. Whatever the news is, I’m confident you will know in the coming days."
