"The Reds" Liverpool are reported to have an opportunity to acquire a world-class midfielder as the player's current club is willing to let him go.
Spanish outlet 'COPE' reported that José Mourinho, the prospective manager of "Los Blancos" Real Madrid, is considering letting French national team midfielder Aurélien Tchouaméni join Premier League giants "The Reds" Liverpool this summer.
Mourinho is seeking a new defensive midfielder, especially Morten Hjulmand, the key midfielder of Sporting Lisbon. This means one Real Madrid midfielder will need to move out to make room for Hjulmand, with reports indicating that player is likely Tchouaméni.
The 26-year-old Tchouaméni, who has played 49 matches in all competitions this season, has been linked with "The Reds" Liverpool. His disputes with teammate Federico Valverde have increased the likelihood of him being released, which could further boost Liverpool's interest.
José Mourinho is willing to let Tchouaméni join Liverpool, but this will only happen if he successfully secures Hjulmand first.
Mourinho believes Hjulmand will enhance the quality of Real Madrid's midfield, helping them win major titles like La Liga and the UEFA Champions League next season, especially after this season's painful loss to rivals Barcelona, who won La Liga.
Besides Liverpool, Manchester United is also interested in Tchouaméni. The Red Devils want to strengthen their midfield to replace Casemiro, who is set to leave Old Trafford after this season.
