Bruno Fernandes was named Premier League Player of the Year for the 2025-26 season and revealed the previous Manchester United player who won the award 15 years ago.
On 23 May 2026, Bruno Fernandes, the Portuguese captain and midfielder of the “Red Devils” Manchester United, under English manager Michael Carrick, claimed the EA SPORTS Player of the Season 2025-26 award, the Premier League Player of the Year for the 2025-26 season, achieving this honor with an outstanding performance.
Bruno Fernandes played a key role in helping the “Red Devils” finish 3rd in the English Premier League this season, securing a spot back in the UEFA Champions League. Individually, he scored 8 goals and provided 20 assists in 37 league appearances. He is also on track to break the Premier League single-season assist record, matching Thierry Henry and Kevin De Bruyne with 20 assists so far.
Furthermore, winning this award makes Bruno Fernandes the first Manchester United player from the iconic red club to receive it since Nemanja Vidić, the former Serbian defender, who won the award in the 2010-11 season, about 15 years ago.
