Chelsea Star Threatens to Leave if Alonso Does Not Guarantee Starting Role

A prominent Chelsea "Blues" player is reportedly threatening to leave the club if Xabi Alonso does not guarantee him a starting position for the upcoming season.

Nicholas Jackson, the Senegalese international striker for Chelsea, has issued an ultimatum that he will leave Stamford Bridge if he is not assured a starting role by new manager Xabi Alonso.

Jackson is set to return to Chelsea after spending the 2025-26 season on loan at Bayern Munich, where he helped the Bavarian club win the German Bundesliga and the DFB-Pokal.

Chelsea approved Jackson's loan move to Bayern last summer after spending nearly £100 million to sign João Pedro from Brighton and Liam Delap from Ipswich Town. Bayern paid Chelsea £14 million for the loan and agreed to pay an additional £56 million to make the transfer permanent if certain conditions were met. However, Bayern ultimately decided not to complete the permanent signing of Jackson.

As a result, Jackson must return to Chelsea, but his future remains uncertain. Jackson is willing to stay at Chelsea only if he is guaranteed a place as a regular starter.

If this condition is not met, he will seek opportunities either to move on loan or a permanent transfer elsewhere.

Chelsea is planning to negotiate with Jackson's agent while considering whether to sell the player. Over the past summer, Jackson drew interest from several clubs both domestically and abroad.
