Arsenal Chairman Decides on Arteta Contract as Current Deal Ends Next Season

Josh Kroenke, co-chairman of Arsenal, clearly states that extending Mikel Arteta's contract is the club's highest priority right now.

On 29 May 2026, after Mikel Arteta guided Arsenal to their first Premier League title in 22 years, the team also has the chance to win another trophy in the UEFA Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain.

Arteta's current contract will expire in summer 2027, and reports indicate Arsenal is prepared to offer a substantial salary to extend his deal.

Josh Kroenke, co-chairman of Arsenal, revealed that securing Arteta's contract extension is the club's primary objective.

"Keeping Mikel Arteta at the club is our most important mission at the moment. He is enjoying his time here, loves it here, and is truly part of Arsenal's lifeblood."

"When we decided to replace Unai Emery with Mikel Arteta, all discussions focused on completely changing the club's culture. We were willing to take a step back to move forward by embracing and excelling in this cultural transformation."

Arsenal's next match is the UEFA Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain on 30 May at 23:00 Thailand time.
