Barcelona, known as "The Blaugrana," officially unveiled Anthony Gordon as their new player after securing his transfer from Newcastle United.
Barcelona, the Spanish La Liga giant, announced the signing of English international forward Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United, nicknamed "The Magpies," for a total fee of 80 million euros (approximately 3.045 billion baht). He signed a five-year contract running until June 2031.
Gordon, 25, moved from Everton to Newcastle in 2023 and quickly became a key player. In the most recent season, he delivered an impressive performance, scoring 17 goals in 46 appearances across all competitions.
Especially notable was his performance in European competitions, scoring 10 goals in the UEFA Champions League. This made him a target for several top clubs, but ultimately Barcelona secured the deal.
Gordon played a total of 152 matches for Newcastle, with only Dan Burn (153) and Bruno Guimarães (155) having more appearances for the club across all competitions.
Meanwhile, his direct involvement in goals (60 contributions) ranks second only to Alexander Isak (68) among the club's forwards.
By scoring 10 goals in the 2025-26 Champions League season, he became the second English player to reach double digits in goals in a single season of the competition, following Harry Kane, who achieved this in the 2024-25 season.
