Man City Decides on Real Madrids Pursuit of Haaland

Man City has officially made its decision regarding Real Madrid's interest in signing Erling Haaland.

On 4 June 2026, Fabrizio Romano, a renowned sports journalist, reported that Manchester City, a leading Premier League club, has made its decision concerning claims by Spanish La Liga giant Real Madrid that star striker Erling Haaland will transfer to their team.

Last night, Enrique Riquelme, a candidate for Real Madrid's presidential election and challenger to the current president Florentino Pérez, announced his campaign policy, declaring that Erling Haaland would sign with the "Los Blancos" if he wins the election.

Enrique Riquelme also boldly stated that both Erling Haaland and Rodri, two key Manchester City players, would move to Real Madrid and that the club would have a new coach, not José Mourinho, who is awaiting a second spell if Florentino Pérez remains president.

Subsequently, Alfie Haaland, Erling Haaland's father, along with the Norwegian striker's agents, immediately denied these claims, affirming that no transfer would take place. Manchester City also refuted the news.

Most recently, Fabrizio Romano shared a statement from Manchester City regarding Erling Haaland and Real Madrid: "The rumors coming out of Spain about Erling Haaland's future are untrue. There is no agreement permitting this to happen, nor any contract allowing it."

"We are considering legal action regarding the use of our player's image in this context."
