Nottingham Forest, nicknamed "The Tricky Trees," has made its decision regarding Elliott Anderson after rumors linking him to Manchester United and Manchester City.
The Athletic, a prominent English media outlet, reported that Manchester City, known as "The Sky Blues," increased their offer to £106 million excluding bonuses to acquire Elliott Anderson, the England international midfielder from Nottingham Forest. However, Forest has already rejected this offer.
The bonuses included in the bid could push Anderson’s total transfer fee above £120 million, but Forest is seeking a higher initial amount.
Forest intends to sell the 23-year-old midfielder for a record transfer fee in England, having already turned down two previous offers.
Liverpool set that record last summer when they bought Alexander Isak from Newcastle United for £125 million.
Forest wants even more money from any club interested in signing their star midfielder this year, which would yield a huge profit since they bought Anderson from Newcastle in 2024 for only £35 million.
Manchester City is not the only club interested in Anderson; Manchester United also want to sign him this summer. However, the Red Devils appear unwilling to bid as high as City in this competitive transfer battle.
Manchester United has several midfield targets and has already agreed to sign Ederson from Atalanta.
Players like West Ham’s Mateus Fernandes, Brighton’s Carlos Baleba, and Bournemouth’s Alex Scott are also on their radar.
