Man City Celebrates Securing Premier League Star in Record-Breaking Transfer

Man City celebrates securing a Premier League star with a record-breaking transfer fee.

Fabrizio Romano, the renowned transfer market journalist, confirmed that Manchester City, the "Sky Blues," have agreed to sign Elliot Anderson, the English midfielder from "The Forest" Nottingham Forest, for a fee of £116 million.

Anderson transferred from Newcastle to Forest for £35 million in 2024, appearing in 88 matches and scoring 4 goals for the club. He played a key role in helping Forest finish 7th in the 2024-25 Premier League season and reach the semi-finals of the 2025-26 Europa League.

Due to his performances, Anderson attracted serious interest from Manchester City. Initially, City offered £106 million plus £15 million in add-ons, which Forest rejected. However, in the final negotiations, Manchester City closed the deal at £116 million with no additional add-ons.

Currently, Anderson is with the England national team at the 2026 World Cup. He is scheduled for a medical in the United States this weekend before officially signing and being unveiled as Manchester City's new player.
